Birkie Race Wax (& BootBuddies)

Boulder Nordic Sports will be at the Birkie Thur & Fri to do race wax.

They have a location in my favorite Wisconsin city... Cable!

The location is the intersection of Highway 63 and County Road M. The address is 13270 Cable Sunset Road.

They're testing waxes leading up to the Birkie so if you want to be spoiled and feel like a professional athlete, have them wax your skis for me. Trust me, good wax = happy race. Bad wax = you think you're working harder than everyone else and going slower = sad time.

AND they'll have BootBuddies for sale! Which is even more exciting than race wax!

Hours of Operation in Cable:
Thurs 25th- 11:00AM-8:00 PM
Fri 26th- 10:00AM-9:00 PM

Local Phone Number (Available Wednesday-Saturday Birkie week):
715.798.3200

We sold some BootBuddies at the Canmore World Cup Festival last weekend! It was fun to see BootBuddies out and in action on the street.

So I was out last Saturday when they had the main street of Canmore groomed with snow & a girl walked by with some of her friends, wearing a pair of BootBuddies. (Which made me smile.) They stopped right in front of me (and probably thought I had some problems because I was unabashedly staring at them and listening to their conversation) and the girl was talking about the fast & female event at which she had been. Then she said, "and my dad got me a pair of BootBuddies!" and kicked one of her feet up almost over her head, to show off her BootBuddy. I was so proud. It was my first BootBuddy sighting that was a BootBuddy obtained in the normal, retail way.

SkiTraxx Store

The SkiTraxx Store is now up and running!

(although there is the kink that you're going to receive two receipts for each order right now. I wonder how we fix that.)

The PINK BootBuddies are going to be ready to ship next week. Red, Blue & Yellow are ready now. And if you're in Canmore you can stop by TrailSports at the Canmore Nordic Centre to pick up a pair.

Excite! Excite!

E-commerce = success!
Next task = figure out when I start that 10k tomorrow. I keep having to convince the controller peoples here to let me into the venue. I must not have my World Cup swagger goin' on.

Green BootBuddy

Of all the things that irk me, uggs worn with mini skirts, dull rollerski ferrules, mosquitoes, non-aviators who wear aviators...

right up there on the list is EXCESSIVE PACKAGING on small products. Seriously, does something have to come in a package ten times its size in order for consumers to think it's worth buying? Or, as in this instance, infinitely larger since what they're selling is a 25-digit membership number.

Don't get depressed, this isn't going to be just another whiny blog. While I don't control the universe (yet) I do control a very small line of cross country skiing accessories. While I was thinking about how to display BootBuddies in stores, I decided that it's important to take your personal values with you into your business life. I hate buying things and then filling up my garbage or recycling bin with the packaging. Therefore...

We are offering the BootBuddy in stores, package free.

Seriously, buy a product, don't pay for the accompanying trash.

Look for your BootBuddies in your local Cross Country Ski shop in a display jar on the counter.

First run of BootBuddies

I just heard from our Manufacturer... he just pulled off the first run of BootBuddies! The word is that the plant employees are walking around snapping them into a pair of skate boots we sent down saying, "this is brilliant." It feels pretty good when a bunch of Los Angelites appreciate a nordic skiing innovation.

We're going to have several Olympic athletes using BootBuddies in Vancouver, both American and international. I can't wait to see BootBuddy make its Olympic debut :)

SkiTraxx.com

I would like to announce that I have started my own business! I never thought that I would be running a start-up but life takes it's own odd path and here I am with an LLC, a product to sell, a patent pending, and even employees.

Ever since Salomon came out with the Pilot binding system I've been frustrated with the need to knock the snow out of the bottom of my boot every time I go skiing. And I do mean EVERY time, don't forget that I was skiing in the Pacific Northwest at this time. I don't think that I was alone in thinking that there must be a solution.

This fall, I finally brought that solution into physical form: The BootBuddy. I've been testing and rebuilding all fall and winter and finally the finished form of the BootBuddy is ready. I also have a series of other after-market ski accessories in the pipeline being developed for next fall.

Check out the BootBuddy & other upcoming products at my website:
