Since the crowds have cleared out from Canmore I've moved into a house with the rest of the remaining US skiers- Cook, Newell, Koos, & Kikkan. It also got wicked cold. We've been on the skiing once a day at 1pm schedule. I think that tomorrow will be warmer since it's 9pm now and it's only -25°C. That's promising. Internet at our house is on and off so I haven't been getting my posts posted. And Thursday and Friday we'll be traveling to Estonia. I have no idea if I'll be able to have internet access in Estonia so if I disappear for a week or two, I apologize and I'll be back when possible.

Training here, aside from the cold, has been excellent. I spent this morning trying to keep up with Kikkan. I didn't. But I tried. We classic skied 60 minutes of L2 and then did 10x30seconds double pole speed. I must admit that I was in L3 and I still wasn't keeping up with Kikkan... clearly there's a ways to go still if I want to be a real skier. Someday. More training next summer... faster training next summer. It's good to have a winter of racing to remind you what needs to be accomplished through the next spring, summer, and fall.

Perhaps your intellect is holding you back. Why be so analytical and base your goals on another person. Kuzzy came to Canmore and said: “I’m gonna whoop some ass!” And he did. He didn’t pontificate about how long it would take to get top 10. He just amped up his attitude and did it. Perhaps you shouldn’t look at Kikkan as a role model, but as a gurl that needs her ass kicked! It’s time for you to dial in some ‘tude!

Hope you have a great trip to our old continent!
You're getting to race in Otteepa, from what I've heard there's a great atmosphere over there and they really love XCountry skiing!
Have a great time and fast races... and you might even get to meet new Norwegian guys (I'm guessing that Hjelmeseth and Svartedal will be on this event)
Cheers

Kick some butt in Europe.

Europeans (including Norwegians) got nothin' on Alaska girls. Alaska girls kick ass and have a sticker to prove it.

That's girls who live in Alaska at least part time, not a birth thing, so you totally count.

Good Luck!

Ditto (more or less) - good luck! I hope we hear and/or see some good news and results from Estonia.

dr. tude- I will bring some attitude to estonia, do not worry.

muriel- I will be on the lookout for the norwegians. I got my haircut here and the girls working in the salon were raving about how hot all the skier boys were. Nice to be reminded to appreciate the bonuses that come along with WC racing.

Don- thanks for the acceptance... Proud to be an Alaskan!

Well, contrary to what Don seems to think, I usually consider Alaskan girls ones who live here full time, if not been here a long time. In this circumstance, since you're doing some pretty hardcore training and adventuring in AK, you probably count. That aside, good luck in the upcoming races, and good job in the past ones!

maya- I thought don was being a little too lenient about the definition of ak girl. I'll try to solidify my status of alaskan more this summer!
